    Hi all,

finally fed up enough to sort out my warped brake discs, they are fine below 50mph but at motorway speeds i get a lot of judder through the steering wheel when i hit the middle pedal.

I have a 1.6 CL (AEE) and was wondering if it is worthwhile getting bigger/vented/cross-drilled discs and better pads if im going to change them, or best just to stick to the regular 239mm solid discs (i believe) and brembo pads from GSF?

I'm going to do the change myself with the aid of Mr Haynes as it looks fairly straightforward.

anything i should look out for? the brake fluid was changed by my mechanic about 6 months ago so was planning to leave that well alone - i dont need to disconnect any of the hydraulics do i?

    cheers

    forgot to add

will 256mm brake discs fit under 14" wheels?

simple maths says 25.6cm discs will go under 35cm wheels (14*2.5 = 35cm) but will the calipers fit as well?

    cheers

Gave up and took it to my mech - the calipers are done up silly tight and didnt have a hope of getting them undone (and even if i had i would never have done them back up that tight after fiddling with it).

now got nice shiny new (standard) discs and pads and only £70 out of pocket. :-D
