    Hi all,
I need some help my B6 a4 is equipped with the excellent BOSE system - though there is one problem - when i insert a CD the radio make a really loud clicking noise (from the head-unit - not the speakers) did anyone ever have this problem before?
This happens intermittently when you start the car also - comes up sometimes also that it cannot read the cd - "CD ERROR" on the screen

    Any ideas?

    Paddy

Hi mate is your CD player a 6 disc changer head? My girlfriend had a similar prob with her golf, as did a mate of mine with his 3.0 A4. Can be a real pain and as far as I know it can only be dealt with by a ******* or specialist.

Yeah it could be dirt on the laser that stops the player reading the cd, but the clicking sounds like it could be the loading mechanism?? After the cd is loaded into the player maybe it's not quite sitting in the right place, causing the clicking.. Although yours is a single cd it sounds like exactly like the prob my girl/mate had..Might be worth havin it checked out..
