    Hi,
I've just bought a Mk3 97 TDi CL and its my first golf, so forgive what will probably be a stupid question!

My cigarette lighter seems not to be working and i'm not sure why. Might just be a fuse but i'm not sure. (I don't want to smoke in it just power my TomTom!).

The previous guy seems also to have a glow plug pre-heater fitted for when it doesn't start easily, is this a normal thing - i can't work out why he did this as it starts perfectly easily last night and did so again this morning after the heavy frost of last night.

Other than that the car is immaculate and drives beautifully!

    All help greatfully received!

Its a soft button below the steering wheel, which i'm supposed to use if the car doesn't start. Not too sure how to use it to be honest, the trader spoke to the previous owner who said it was fitted to help on start-up but he'd never needed it since it was installed.

I just supposed it boosted the plugs to assist start-up if particularly cold.
