I recently bought a 97 Golf (Canadian Car) and have found the speedo to stop working when it feels like it. From what I have read so far, it is in all likelihood solder problems on the cluster. Not being good at that, I have a line on another cluster, and want to know if its just a matter of switching them over.
Is there anything else to do? My car has less miles on it than the incoming, but I am not sure if I can put my mileage on the new one without a big hassle.
    Thanks

It's not a problem to swap them over but as you say just different odometer readings. All else should be the same as long as the part for the cluster is the same then all should be ok.
