    Hi guys.

Having a problem with the temperature guage on my B4 80 2.0E sport.

The problem is, it doesn't work.

To be more specific, it will budge perhaps up as far as 25% up the guage if sat in traffic for a while but most of the time the needle doesn't even touch the guage.

The heater seems to work fine.

    Any suggestions guys?

    Thanks

    Ian

    right. update.

It was in the garage to have the temperature sender changed and this hasn't helped it in the slightest.

    anyone?

    Your thermostat in knackered.
Your heater works as you think that 50 degrees is hot and your engine thinks that 50 degrees isn't hot.
£10 from GSF for the thermostat.
Get it done as you're also washing your bores with petrol, the Ecu will be delivering fuel to what it thinks is a cold engine. i.e. running with the choke on all the time.

Last time I did a thermostat it took me ten minutes. You will need a socket set and something to move the old thermostat as they like to stay put.

I think yours is on the bottom of the water pump.
Makes that an 1/2 hour job.

Hi, new to this sight. Just wondered if the temperature guage issue would be the same with diesels as well as petrols? Any ideas greatfully received.
    Thanks
