Hi guys wonder if anyone can shed any light on this problem my dad is having with his Audi A4 1.8t.

We had the water pump replaced 4 months ago but recently he has noticed the water temp doesn't go above 60 even after driving for a long time.
When this happens the heaters don't seem to give out heat properly, e.g. when set at full heat, it would stay cold for a while before actually giving out some heat (this is on the motorway).

He also said the low water level light came on a few weeks ago and again a few days ago.

I've taken the oil cap off and have a picture of it below: This is from cold start and letting it run for 10 mins, the temp needle didn't move during that time.

Any info would be much appeciated

Drive the car for 15 mins.Press the upper radiator hose, and check if there is much pressure,if so, i think the head gasket is leaking,If there is no pressure then the thermostat is defect, and you have coolant leak somewhere. The system can be checked for gases with a coolant analysis liquid, which changes colour,if there is combustian gas in the coolant system.
