Not Starting

Hi there,

I bought a 1.6 1989 golf driver last week but it didn`t have a distributor or any HT leads on it. I`ve got hold of a distributor now and fitted it but have no idea what order the HT leads go!!!

I'm pretty sure its the right distributor for the engine (EZ) but not sure about the electrical side of things e.g. does the car have bosch fittings or another make or does this really matter?

I don`t want to just fit them willy nilly just incase I bugger something up.

could someone please give me some idea what i`m to do next??

this car could of hed bosch or ducellier
with the dist pointing to no1 cyl rotor arm pointing to little cut mark on dist body engine on tdc
the firing order is 1342 the direction of revolution of dist is marked on dist side with little arrow i think it is clockwise?

If you hook it up incorrectly you would get some misfiring and back firing. If you have it hooked up correctly then it should go as long as everything else is ok.
