Have a look on Ebay.de - search in Auto & motorrad teile, then Antrieb, Motor & Getriebe for V6 TDI. There's a complete kit here for ~£700 with lifters and followers: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=300288999923
You must replace the lifters and followers, as these are very likely to have been damaged by the worn cams.

Mine had the cams done without the lifters. 10K later I'm having to do a complete engine rebuild after discovering that it was only running on 17 out of 24 valves with broken followers sitting in the sump

I would suggest doing the cam belt and idlers at the same time, since it will be in bits anyway. You can find kits for that on ebay.de too.

That particular seller does use Paypal, but note that a lot of German ebay sellers don't, preferring a bank transfer instead. I've never had a problem with this, but it will usually cost you about £20 in bank fees to do, so bear that in mind :-)

You can also get the cam and crank locking tools very cheap on ebay.de - much cheaper than in the UK.

    Good luck! Mikki

I would get genuine cams from dealers as the ones from germany are crap turkish made casts wich wont run properly, also, the lifters and followers they supply are not genuine and i had an engine rebuilt with these cheap parts and never ran right. The lifters would not pressurise and i had 4 bent valves on the right bank after rebuilt even after using locking tools. Also, they dont have the TDC mark for timing the pump. Get genuine FEBI lifters and genuine rocker arms/followers as the patern are just pants.

I was not aware of that - useful to know!

I just ordered a set of genuine lifters and followers from Audi for ~£300. Oddly enough Milton Keynes have >200 of each in stock. Common problem eh?

    Locking tools are here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=001
