gti won't start -- help

my gti won't start. the water hose broke when i was on my summer trip. now, it's sitting in my garage and won't start. need help figuring out why.

Has your car been sitting in the garage from summer until now? If so your battery may have suffered through not being charged/discharged. You can try recovery by charging it overnight but check the water levels first (assuming it has removable plugs). If you can see the plates, add distilled or deinoised water to about 5mm above the plates before charging. Charge in a well ventilated place away from naked flames or sparks and check the water level again after charging - let it settle for an hour off charge then check. It should spin the engine over quickly after an overnight charge; if it doesn't it's probably not recoverable.
