I've got a Bora TDi 100PD which is approaching 115k miles on the clock.

As far as I am aware, it's still running the original clutch setup.

Now whilst I'm not having any issues with it currently, is it worth getting the friction plate changed before it dies and takes the flywheel with it, or would it be best to replace them all at the same time anyway.

I guess what I want to know is whether or not there is any benefit from changing it before it's dead (aside from the inconvenience)?

if its not slipping why not leave alone
the clutch is designed to wear out on the pressure plate side first so if it starts to slip you will only need to replace the pressure and centre plate not the flywheel if done when it just starts to slip

If its not broken, dont fix it!
If you think its at the top of the pedal maybe it just needs an adjustment?

    Hello,
I've have a 100bhp 2002 Bora with 90k on it. The clutch has just started slipping. It's mostly at Motorway/ A road sppeds when you accelerate in 4th or 5th. Does this sound like new clutch time does it just need adjusted? I've checked Eurocar Parts but they don't seem to list the Pressure and Centre plates. Anyone got any idea how much they roughly cost?

    Cheers,
    Geoff
