    hi, could someone please help me?

    i have a 1999 mk4 1.6 golf (petrol)

    i had the head gasket done and since then i have a dramatic power loss, in every gear it is reving as it should but is holdin back.

    any ideas???

    yeah the mechanic said he has put in on correctly and that the computer times it itself, how true this im unsure??

    If the problem started after replacing the gasket,the mechanic must have done something wrong,A fault code read might enlighten the problem.

    like a plug in diagnostic test??

    any idea how much that will cost?

    nope not off hand, the mechanic who did the head gasket hasnt got any.

    I'd say check your exhaust first. Could be faulty hall sensor or Coil pack failure or water in combustion chamber.
