    Hi

My Golf GTi 1.8T , 2003 , continually blows hot air into the car, the climate control does not seem to be having any effect. Does not seem to matter whether you are on 'auto' of 'econ' mode , nut if you select 'lo' temperature then you get cold air, any other setting and you get constant hot air. A local garage pulled out the following codes

01271 regulator flap motor V68 and 01274 air flow flap motor V71.

any ideas on a possible solution - or inded where to start. I am not a mechanic , so if it sounds too complex then presume a VW garage is called for ?

    thanks

    Hi mate

I have exactly the same problem with a 53 Bora.

As the year of car is close makes me wonder if there is a faulty batch and here comes the flood!

Im guessing its the motor that moves the flap (instead of the manual knob/lever)

Did you find out what the problem was?
    Any help would be welcome.

The unit has temp sensors in the front, are these blocked/dusty etc?

    Ive found the problem.
On the passengers side at the front of the centre consol is a motor.
It is coloured red for climate control models. Blue for manual.
There is a white arm that comes off this and activates the flap.

Mine is sticking, Im guessing its the actual flap. If I select lo on the climate control and then lightly push the white arm it then works fine, you can feel it move.

Went to the main ******** and got a quote for a new motor (before I found out it was working) and the new motor is £73 + vat. You need the motor flaps setup up/programmed which is about £35 and they would supply and fit everything for £214.
Im guessing once the motor is removed you can get access to the flap, maybe some vaseline or something?
For a ******* I thought that was quite a good price.

For now I get my kid to push it for me...lol
They gotta earn their pocket money some how!!
