Sorry about the long description to the thread.
Basically we purchased an A3 2.0T FSI 2005 DSG Sport from a dealer in December.
When I collected the car, I noticed that whilst stationery and pumping the accelerator pedal, the car seems to miss.. it sounded a little like some of the tuned engines you hear that seem to suck instead of blow every so often.. sorry don't know how to describe it any better. The dealer said it was normal for the engine.

We have noticed over the last few days that there seems to be more smoke coming from the exhaust under acceleration. Not noticed any drop in speed ect but have noticed a drop in MPG we were getting approximately 35 to the gallon, this seems to have dropped to 24ish to the gallon. Finally we have also noticed recently something that looks like oil dropping out of the exhaust. It's leaving marks on the block drive way which to all intents and purposes looks like oil.

Now.. Im no mechanic as you may be able to tell from my descriptions.. I always buy cars from dealers as Im hopeless doing anything myself.. can any of you tell what you think the issue may be or in deed do i have any issue?

You need to get that looked at, it sounds to me as though it is running rich but that should bring on the engine check light on the dash which presumably is not on? The black substance, is it thin and watery or thicker than that? Where is the oil level and have you had to top it up? Is the car running OK apart from the slight misfire at a standstill?

    Crasher..

The car isn't missing on standstill.. rather when at a standstill and being revved out of gear.. hope that is a little clearer?
Re the oil substance, you are right its watery substance.
No engine light showing and the car seems to be running just fine in other ways..

The water is a normal by product of combustion so that is not a worry, the water will wash soot from the exhaust and be carried out but this should not be excessive. If you are worried, get a fault code read and printed report which should cost you around £30 at a VAG specialists.
