Screeching Noise when Turning

Hello,

My car makes a screeching noise when i do a full lock (or upto a full lock) turn when i park and try to realighn the car with the crub.

I got the car checked and the guy said it is NOT the CV joints, he thought it was the fan belt (whatever that is) so he replaced it as well as having a full cam belt change at the same time..

The noise went away for a few days.. and now its BACK, getting kind of worse every week.

Iv been to another garage and they said that a non genuine fan belt may have been fitted, resulting in the noise. so he suggested i get a fan belt from dealer direct and try that...

Any of you know what issue i my have, or how to rectify it?

Does sound like a fan belt.

You don't say what engine you have but my PD130 has a spring loaded tensioner which automatically adjusts the tension, if you have the same could that be faulty?

Also might be worth checking that oil or water isn't getting onto the belt.

sorry forgot to mention i have a 130bhp engine gt tdi, 02 plate. yes the noise seems to be louder or more noticable in the rain.. maybe fanbelt gettin wet some how?
what should i do to resolve this embarassing sound?
