Does anybody know where I can source a Haynes manual for my passat (54 plate V6 2.5L diesel) ? I am having real trouble locating one, the only manual I can find is for the regular petrol and diesel models.

if it for the engine I would buy an Haynesi manual for an Audi with that engine fitted.
The body won't be any different from the 4 cyl models.

The 2.5L is much more common in the US and so you might also get the Bentley manual from there and for less than the VW one.

The other facility that my buddy uses in the US is alldata.com - you register your model and then get access on line to a manual. I found some bits of it better than haynes due to the increased detail including blown up diagrams but others more frustrating as it was more difficult to navigate. It is not expensive I believe. I have no connection to them other than as a user piggybacking on my buddys account.

The 2.5 tdi was never officially imported into the USA.

whoops - sorry my eyes need testing as I missed that itw as a diesel and as Snapdragon sais the 2.5L was not a US model. In fact the passat diesel was only available very briefly in the US. When my buddy in the US hears about UK diesel mpg he is jealous even though he only pays $1.35 at the moment for gas.

There was a bloke in the USA he imported a used 2.5 TDI engine from Germany and retrofitted it to an audi. Crazy in a nice way! It shows the less you can have something the more you want it!

    I think this was it...

that idea was attractive to my US buddy when he scraped the sump off his 2000 MY 1.8T Passat for the second time.
In fact he was hoping I would scrap my car when the cambelt tensioner failed recently si that he could have the engine and get it rebuilt over there..
