hi folks this is my first post on this forum

i have an A3 1.8t quattro W reg, a back spring snapped on me so i decided to fit a set of Eibach lowering springs. put the rears on myself no probs, couldnt manage the fronts myself so a mechanic is doing it for me. He's just called to say that he's got the springs in place and just about to re-fit the struts but theres a problem!

turns out that the Eibach springs are the same length as the springs that came off!! the rears were shorter coz i compared them before i fitted them. what am i going to do about the fronts, the thing handles like a piece of ***** with the back being lower than the front. dyu think ive been sent the wrong springs? how can i find out the length of standard front springs so i know that i have the right springs

    cheers in advance Scrumpy

I would think if its the right kit, then the factory springs will compress a bit more than the eibach ones... Mind you, the eibach wont lower the car an awfull lot maybe 15-20mm more than stock sport suspension. Also, many springs settle after a few days or a week or so. However, i do hope he is fitting the sport shorter bump stops otherwise the car will sit much higher than it should.

They will lower that much if you have standard SE suspension. If there is allready sport suspension fitted then, it wont make that much difference anyway. Bump stops are also known as helper springs or puffers !
