    Hi,
    My 1st post
I have my (2002) Audi 2 years now and love it.
My 1st problem has arisen, yesterday my electric windows stopped working all 4, along with the electric mirros and the interior light which operates on door closure, also the drivers door does not lock when the remote keyfob is used and the indicators dont operate either when the keyfob is used to lock the car.
My guess is some one item has caused all this to happen at the same time.
    Any idea welcome.
    Thanks.
    Paul.

Hello and welcome. You need to have the convenience unit scanned with a fault code reading system. Have you had water leaks into the passenger’s footwell?

Thanks Crasher for your very quick reply,
As far as i know no spillage of any liquids into footwell, will ask the Mrs later if she knows of anything,
Is this scan an expensive thing to carry out, who can do it?What would be the worst case senario?
Have to car booked into a local auto spark in the morning, not sure if he will have the equipment to carry out what u describe, i will let him have a look and see what he finds.
    regards Paul.
PS, Maybe you may know something about the engine cooler fan, it runs all the time this last while ,1st thing in the morn when car is switched on the fan comes on also?

Most garages have code reading equipment, without it they will be guessing which is dangerous. The water leaks come in through the heater; it is a huge problem on the A4/Passat. Sounds as though the cooling fan controller is faulty, again a scan will help. Do you know a VAG specialist in your area?

Dont know of any specialists, other than go to the main dealership, which i imagine would be very expensive.
Will wait and see how this guy gets on 2moro.
    regards Paul.
