    Default Bora Losing Oil – 15-05-2008,09:40 PM
    Hi,
    Just need some help on this.

    I have a 2002 Bora 1.6 16V and it is losing oil. It doesnt seem to be burning any (no white/blue smoke when the engine starts) and I cant see any in the water, plus there are no leaks !!!!

    Can anyone please advise on this as I have used about 4ltrs since December !!

    I know VW's have been known to use a lot of oil but is this normal?

    Any advise will be appreciated

    The Bora is notorious for it. Plenty of threads on this and other forums.

    If you check your manual, it'll give you a rough guide to usage per distance.

    I check mine monthly but usually top up a small amount, less than a litre every couple of months.

    I'm not burning oil either and there is no emulsification in the coolant.
