Can you fit a 2006 a3 front bumper to a 2004 version a3?

Hi, first post
I today bought a 2004 a3 and i love it,
I wanted the newer shape with the big grill but couldnt afford it with this credit crunch!!
Will the newer shape front bumper (2005-) fit the older shape (2004) body e.g are all the lugs and fixings in the same place, i think the shape is the same but not sure about the rest, fog lights, wash holes??? etc
Any help would be much appreciated

1st thing to check,

are the bonnet, wings and headlights on both models the same?

if not, then it is unlikely.

Thanks for the link helped alot, by the look of it the bonnet and wings are different so looks like a harder job than i first antisipated, Regards Sam
