    hi i,ve owned my 1999 passat 1.8t for over 7 years and only now am i getting problems. some i,ve solved but this one,s got me .first the 2 button fob won,t work tryed my spare still no joy the door,s/alarm/and crazy of all the gamma unit is dead.when it all worked fine on saturday.
    the pass door won,t lock with the key but the 2 back and drivers door will .the door button goes down then back up .i have got VW TOOLS but sure if this will help.anyone got any ideas.

    Yeah, at a guess you might have had some water coming into the cabin recently, in the passenger foot well?

    i will have a look when it finally stops rainning my vw tools did put up a error code reading the conv/comfort module code 930 but it said it is unkown any idea what that really means.

    I think that means it's dead, not even communicating in a way that your diagnostic tool understands.

    VAG-COM usually says unknown to modules that it has no label file for, but it needs something valid from the controller to identify that file.

    What are you talking to the car with ?

    Is the controller responding with anything at all?

    I can't recommend getting a copy of VAG-COM with a genuine cable enough - mine has paid for itself 10 fold ...

    the module is respond and give 4 error code one is code 930 so i take it the control unit is working.i use a program called VW TOOLS which is the same as vag com just looks differnet.also 2 code,s for haetded mirrors but tyhey false the heated mirror,s do work ?? .

    the haynes manuel says this control unit also controls the dash lights/elce windows/alarm/interior lights...etc but this all work fine and it doesn,t say anything about the gamma unit not work.
