Hello, I've got the RDS 500 stereo and will be installing a hands free kit soon. I looked on the sticker on the radio showing the pin information but I couldn't see the ones for phone in. I've noticed when looking at other peoples pictures that they have this labelled.

    Can anyone help?

I had another look at the wiring diagram, there seems to be about 8=10 very small pins at the bottom of the socket (maybe for external cd changer) with two pins labelled ph+ and ph-.

does anyone know if these are the pins I'm looking for?

just remembered (was a while since i did this) you will need part no 3B7035447B which is the socket for the rear of the stereo and one part no 000979018 which is a wire with connectors at either end, you can cut this in half and insert your two new wires into the relevant pins of the connector. Connect the other end of the wires to your hands free kit.

Hartry, can you double check the part number for the socket? I went to VW Warrington today and the parts dept said that that part number is for a 1997 Passat. He also said that the wire is only to be sold to the workshop not to the public! good thing I got them from Stockport a few weeks back.

Anyway, your help would be much appreciated.
