    Hi frds,

Today in snowy Monday my 55 Reg 2.o ltr passat broken down again not the fuel pump failure this time instead I was told by passat dealer it is a fuel injector's fault.

To my worse nightmare the expected bill is over £800 minimum (could be more if more fault dignosed after injector changed).

I am really annoyed because of unexpected costs and all un-reliability of passat. Who know next day it is turbo failure or anything else

Now I seek advice from other users who have similar problem in past. What did you do? Is this work can be done from some independent garge? I live in Manchester. So could anyone suggest a VW specicialt in Manchester who can do this job on much cheaper.

My car is still with dealer but I have not requested change yet because I wanted to check my options first.

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers

Is it worth trying to source one from a scrapyard or ebay - then getting rid of your Passat (sacriliege I know)!

Make sure it is an injector fault and not a faulty wire loom to the injectors. The loom is expensive to replace but a decent autoelectrician should be able to patch repair it for you.

I have an 05 Passat 140, the in tank fuel pump went in April 08, then had recurring fault where the vehicle would go to 'limp home mode', a new loom injector fixed that problem, but 2 weeks later the car lost all power on motorway and have been told by garage that it may be the engine ECU
As Martin said make sure it is not the loom before getting the injectors replaced, also find an independant VWSpecialist as they wil be able to half your bill whilst still using genuine VW Parts
