Has anyone upgraded their headlights. Driving on a duel carrige way with dipped lights the visability is very poor. I have adjusted the angle of the beam with the little roller thingy but they are still poor.

Try a search, this has been covered many times on here - different bulbs etc.

Tried HIDs but no good, the set up I bought was 35 watt, the system kept telling me the bulbs had failed and they cut out as soon as they were switched on! No good to anyone.

Have converted both high and low beams to Philips X-treme Power H7 55w, excellent - much better than before and no where as expensive as the HID route! A pair of bulbs costs about £22 if you do a Google search

Completely agree with you! Unfortunately the new Passat at the dealers didn't have them fitted.

As a matter of interest non of the VW works cars avaliable at the time had them fitted either!
