I recently bought a RNS E and it is working fine. However the direction do not show up in the display between the clocks and the MODE button doesnt work either. Is there anything I can do to resolve these issues?

Is this a retro fit, do you have colour or red DIS.
With a route selected you can turn the unit off then back on, that should give you arrows on the DIS

It is a retro fit. The display is red only. The radio info comes up ok but not the Nav info. I will try turning the system off and on with a route selected. however the mode button still wont work. I have been reading that the car may need to be programmed so that it recognises the fact it has a Nav system now, do you know if that is correct?

The car does have to be coded for nav.
The on and off trick is to overcome the red dis "bug"

Yea the car has to go in for a service soon so will give it a go. It should be fun trying to explain it to them! However I dont really see a problem. If I bought the unit from Audi and they fitted it surely they would have to reprograme the car so that it would work properly. What do you recon?

Dealer will tell you that the RNS-e cannot be retro fitted.
