Hi, I have a 3 door, P registration Mk3 golf gti, 8v model. There is a bizarre problem whereby the radio turns off when the igniton is turned on and turns on again when switched off (with key still inserted). When the key is removed it turns off again.

I have tried a different head unit with the same problem and checked all the fuses. Any ideas to a solution would be great, long journeys are becoming very tedious!

    Thanks
    Simon

I have a similar problem to this one you reported. With the ignition on, my radio turns off. With the ignition off(key in or out), the radio turns on. I've discovered that if I disconnect the ACC lead, the radio will turn on so this may be a possible workaround but I'd prefer that the radio would turn off when the ignition is turned off.

Did you find a solution to your problem?
