Hello to you all, and i hope you can give sokem advice.

My Golf Tdi 1.9 have begun to pull on me when i get to a certain speed and also it feels like its behaving like a normal diesel engine and not with the Turbo. I was advised to change the Air Mass Meter, and i have done this but still get the same tugging feel and also it doesnt seem to have the Turbo thrust.

    Can you help?

    Regards

    Graham

There is a boost pressure regulator that fits on the bulkhead this is also a common problem that stops working then if you turn igntion on and off starts working again, but best to get it plugged in rather than guessing cos will end up costing you a fortune

    All,

I seem to have the same problem with my Mach IV 1.9 TDI. At medium to high revs (bizarrely normally when climbing a hill) the car loses the turbo.

In the last 2 weeks I have had the airflow meter and the boost pressure sensor replaced - as apparently these are the faults which appeared when the car is hooked up to the Bosch engine management system. However, the problem still exists, and is happening more frequently - but, when the ignition is turn off and back on again, the turbo comes back.

I have obviously lost confidence the garage being able to diagnose the issue - if anyone has any ideas, you help would be much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Mark

It could be as simple as a hose that's cracked or has come off. Get your head under the bonnet and do a thorough check.

These faults normally only happen when driving or break down under load so unless car is connected to diag machine while your driving no they wouldnt show up at all
