    Guys, girls

Was assisting a fellow forum member long into the night. We were trying to match his remote keys to the second hand CCU he had fitted, as the car suffered from water ingress.

In the memory positions, the code is "1100" which shows two keys assigned to memory. However, he has only one key, and when the value is changed (test and save) channel 21 in address 46 central convenience reports an error. It does this regardless of what memory position you assign the key to.

There are no fault codes regarding the CCU or key programming at all.

    The car is a Y reg Audi A4 (B6) 2.0.

    I'm running fully registered 409.1 VAG-COM.
    Help is hugely appreciated!

Sorry I've not replied for ages.

Unfortunately I can't even delete the memory positions, I hit zero and test and save but then the error occurs, sounds to me like it just won't re-code.

I'll PM the forum member for the code, its not my car so I can't just get that info.

Its strange, in trying to help the other member, I tested his key by splitting it and adding my remote section to his blade. That ruined R/C/L on my car, and now I change the value from 0 to 1 but they return to zero immediately. Thankfully we re-coded them via a key in door method. The memory positions are correct in my car, 1100.

    Will do, thanks very much.
I was hoping one of the Ross-Tech guys might know something, as to why it would throw an error.
