A4 and 3rd party bluetooth

Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a 3rd party Bluetooth car kit and will probably go for a Sony Ericsson unit.

The HCB-700 has a Caller ID display that you bolt on to the dash somewhere, but I don't like things sticking out of the dash. Is there a way of connect a 3rd party Bluetooth kit (Any, doesn't have to be SE) to the DIS in the Dash where the RDS/CD Info would normally be displayed ?

Not sure there is, someone must have an intergrated solution though. Have you thought about the OEM kit?

I have an HCB-300 in my Passat. Nice bit of kit and the jog-dial unit is much smaller than you'd initially think. I mounted it on a switch blank and can provide some pictures if you're interested.

Hi Sam,

Have thought about OEM but I need a Multi Function Steering Wheel by all accounts and I have the sports wheel. I have seen someone link a HCB-30 to their OEM Nav unit in an A6.

Could you post pics of the 300 unit. I've seen the 400 on ebay for about £70.
