    Newbie with a dumb question,

Looking at autotrader pictures of A6s Is there a way to tell at a glance whether the gearbox is tiptronic or multitronic? Most of the ads just describe them as "automatic" so I'm not sure which are plain autos / tiptronic and which ones have the multitronic. Was the multitronic an option or was it standard once it was introduced?

For example I know that this shift is the tiptronic:

    http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk...geId=842703980

So does that mean that any I see that look like this:

    http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk...geId=824483363

    Are the multitronic?

And this one is clearly described as "tiptronic" but the shift looks different to either of the other two?

    Any help appreciated guys.

    Dave

If you're looking at a Quatrro car, it will be Tiptronic. Multitronics are only available in FWD Audis.

    Hope that helps!

i'm working in company, which is specialised to Audi's and so far i've seen only 7 gears on multitronic. maybe there is difference on older and newer Multitronic boxes.
