    Good day .
Is there some way that I can stop my rear screen from getting so dirty . I had to wah off the dirt every few minutes yesterday .empting the screen bottle prematurely . when I got to my destination 55 miles away rear of the car was filthy. is there anything I can do to stop this ?
    Best regards Trevor.

It's pretty much the same problem with every estate car I've owned or driven - the slippery aerodynamics and flat rear end result in a low pressure area immediately behind the car so muck gets deposited on the tailgate and rear window.

You could try using RainEx or a similar coating on the window glass. It won't stop the muck getting sucked up but might help prevent so much of it from grabbing hold. About a fiver a bottle from your local car spares shop.

I'm told that the spoiler fitted to the current (sport?) B7 Avant cuts this problem down a lot. Not sure how easy it is to add to a B6....

No it doesn't make that much of a difference in my opinion- my car is absolutely filthy, they must put tons of salt on the Norfolk roads!

Every time I come home- it's clean the rear number plates, wing mirrors and lights and it's permanently cold so the roads aren't drying out!

Nope, they all do it. I have to say German cars are particularly bad at this, with my A4 being the worst offender out of the Audi/Merc/BMW's that we've had over the years as company cars etc.

    Bit crap isn't it!

    Cheers,
    Dan.

I agree with all of the above, it's one of those things I'm afraid. Recently I've had the added problem of the rear windows fogging up in cold weather, where I've washed the rear of the car so much.
