the headlights and side lights are done from above the car bonnet open..on top of the lights there is a black plastic cover..lift of look behind the back of the light you will see plastic cover plate..on the top of it there is a metal clip..flip it of the plastic cover should lift and come of...look at the back of light if you can see you will have a metal clip & power plug connected..you probably know how to do the rest then the reverse...the galaxy has to be done from through the wheel arch the sharan just indicators..hope this helps...ps battery side bit of a pain..

In the manual it says the side lights and the indicator lights can only be accessed through the wheel arch. when i put my hand up into it there is one long sort of lever for the indicator bulb and if you put hand slightly more up the is a very short and hard to reach lever for the side bulb. But i can just about touch it never mind twist it.
    It's too complicated.
How do other people do it?

I have done this twice on my sharan in both sides.

The passenger one is easier and more reachable but the drivers side is very tricky unitl I discorvered an easy way to do it!!

I have a larger flat headed screwdriver which with the bonnet open I can slide the screwdriver into the sidelight holder and twist anti-clockwise this will open the light and carefully take it out. To put in back in again after the bulb is replaced just place in on the screwdriver and slot it back into place and twist clockwise!!

That should do the trick, let me know how you get on?

    Thanks a lot.
I took my car down to my local garage and it took them 5 minutes to replace both bulbs without any sweat. He said we have many German cars coming in with this problem.
    Well thanks again.
