Tyre dressing

Hi there guys first of all have to applaud you on the effort you guys take in detailing your car.

Now if you could recommend a tyre wall dressing that actually makes the tyres appear glassy black that would be appreciated as cant seem to get one that gives a good finish and actaully lasts. The tyres on my car are 22" so may need quite a bit.

Are you better to apply with brush rather than spray?

Also a good shampoo too please. Many thanks

On the shampoo question I find meguiars NXT car wash is really great stuff!

Treated myself to Meguiars shampoo and also meguiars endurance tyre shine just need the weather to pick up and get stuck in.

Hi there, sounds n looks like great advice from the detailing expert.....These guys are gods IMO.
The Meguiars products look great but it can be expensive after a while depending on how much you use I guess.
I use Wet n Black spray at £4.50 a bottle ( comes in a spray form ) coupled with an shoe shine applicator available from Asda fro £0.49p
The specialist applicator from Meguiars does look the mutts nutts, but at 10 times the price?
Top tip - Use a little spray and the applicator will take it a longgggg way and reduce the overspray and waste. Try to leave at least an hour and this will stop the wheel slinging any excess onto the paintwork.

Cheers Jim I have been using a shoe shine app for a while now as I had one in the house and thought I would give it a try.

Have to admit that after a few applications with the meguiars gear that I actually find that I got better results on my previous cars with good old pound shop sprays!!!

Hey Steph, don't get me wrong these detailers are just awesome, some of the work they do!!
As for me ...I wash my car on average around 4 times a week..( lol ) I know I know I can hear ya, but if thats waht it takes to keep her lookin good...you know.
The upside is on the alloys for example I don't have to use any harsh chemicals as the brake dust etc doesn't have the time to eat into them.
Every time I wash her the tyres get dressed....using the £0.49p Asda applicator and the Wet n Black at £4.50 every time they last for months. After a while the applicator tends to be pre loaded anyway so you use less n less from the spray to start with

i use the Meg's Gel and and the applicator pad, and it does tend to wear off after a couple hundred miles, but if your like me and wash the car regularly and keep applying it, it looks the mutts when its on.

Also use Meg's NXT shampoo and can't whack it. I also have a bottle of simoniz which was on special in Halfords, and was quite impressed with it.
