    Hello all,
As i have said in my previous posts i have recently bought a 2000 (W reg) passat 1.8 se 20 V turbo saloon.I have noticed something inside the car which to me looks like a tracker,It is on the passengers side on the windscreen. It is black and plastic around 4 inches in length and 2 in width (rectangular)with a thick wire coming off the bottom left of it into the dash.Is this a tracker? If so is it factory fitted and how do i get details on it etc for my insurance etc etc.If it would make it easier for you guys i can add a photo but in the mean time any info on it would be great.
    Thanks

I think the photo is needed

Trackers are normally hidden from display? so they're not removed when the vehicle is stolen

This sounds like a part of a hands free car kit, but photo would be good.

It could be an old GPS antenna for a Sat Nav, you know, the old Philips Dayton MS3200 sort of thing before TomToms etc.. were invented, but they usually have a thin wire coming out of them.

I doubt if a tracker would be fitted in such an obvious place, it could be pulled off & thrown away by a car thief! It may possibly be a sensor for a garage door opener, or an antenna for a radar detector? Is there a manumacturers name on it?
