Beware of bad service

After having a highroof and windows fitted to our VW T4 by VANSP**T in Penzance just two years ago costing us in the region of £1,900, we were recently concerned that the roof appeared faulty as the gelcoate on the rear of the roof was cracking and a hole has now appeared. Having completely insulated and lined the highroof, this is a major problem. After months of none returned calls/emails, VANSP**T want US to travel over 300 miles, pay for a ferry & accommodation during the repair (we live on the Isle of Wight SO THIS WOULD COST US AROUND £250) INSTEAD OF: simply letting one of the many laminators on the island to do the repair on their behalf. His comments to us were "Not my problem that your contact is with us". How helpful was that!!!!! Beware, they may seem nice when you pay them.

To be fair it isn't their fault that you don't live close to them. They are offering to address the problem, what more can they do?
Why should they cover your transport costs, it also is reasonable that a company would want to undertake their own warranty work.

Maybe you could approach them again but for a donation to the repair cost, one that removed their legal commitment to any remaining warranty.
