The tail light in my 2000 passat wont work. This is only on the drivers side tail light and is not the bulb or the bulb holder as both have already been replaced. Brake light and turn signal both work.

Any ideas on how best to fix/ troubleshoot the source of this issue?

    Thanks in advance

    Dan

Well it shares the same fuse as the left side so it points to the 10-pin connector, pink, connector point, A pillar, right, remove the screw and kick plate to reveal the connectors. Regards Peter

I have the same problem as the original posting. I'm in the UK and it is the passenger side rear light on an estate that doesn't work. Brake light and indicator work fine.
Can someone interpret the solution posted above. I'm afraid it doesn't make sense to me. Thanks in advance. David

Well it shares the same fuse as the right side so it points to the 10-pin connector, pink, connector point, A pillar, LHS, remove the screw and kick plate low down in the footwell to reveal the connectors Pin 2 Grey and black, probe it for 12 volts with the ignition on. You can also probe this for continuity back to the bulb holder. Regards Peter
