Newbie---advice and hello

Hi all new to the site,currently driving a 1.4Sportline MKV with a few bits done to her.
Went out and bought a new GT 170 BHP and am looking to have it remapped,just wondering what..if any...warranty issues there would be if i went ahead and got this job done?
There are considerable gains from getting it done,i have been promised a definate 220 BHP after the map
And what difference will a front mounted intercooler have if any?

if you have the car remapped, everything you touch as a result of it will be void in terms of the warranty, i know its probably not what you want to do, but you are best of contacting the dealer or supplying warranty company and asking their advice on the matter....at least your covered that way.

as for the front mounted intercooler.... i assume the standard one is side mounted, therefore has limited space to draw air, the air it does draw is going to be warm. a front mounted has the maximum space to operate in and draws directly cold air into the engine.... much better to burn with.

on another note.... try and speak to devonutopia at some point, hes had a full custom remap, including a front mounted intercooler and will answer most of your questions cus hes nice like that

thanks for the quick reply,ill be on this site quite a bit from now on hopefully i can get some tips and hinters to increase power etc in the forthcoming months

Adding (or increasing the size of) a FMIC will aid cooling considerably and in turn you'll perform better.

Warranty is a sketchy subject when it comes to remaps. If you use flash module it can't usually be detected. But of course, anything like that is all at your own risk. If you do have warranty issues, they have to prove, without doubt, that your modification caused the issue.

Find a mod-friendly dealership, they're out there.
