Gearbox oil change

Was thinking of changing my gearbox oil in my a4 b5.

Which oil is the best to use?
And where is the filling plug also the draining plug?

Funny you should mention this as I did it yesterday on my 2002 AWX engined TDI Passat with an 012 gearbox.

must be the time of year for it as I also did mine the other week.

It is an easy job, but do some research (more than I did) about which oil to use. I used a Silkolene fully synthetic 75w90 oil as I had used this in 2 previous cars with good results. However:

It has made the 2nd gear change worse in cold weather. On the plus side, all the other gearchanges are better in the cold, and the gearbox feels loads better when warm. So in other words a mixed review of the effectiveness of this oil change in my car.

I am in the process of finding out another suitable oil to try, and included in this will be pricing up the Audi original equipment oil.

I have read some good reviews on REDLINE MTL gearbox oil, google it and read some reviews.
