I have recently bought an Alhambra and the tax disc holder appears to be connected to the vehicle by an electric cable which disappears under the windscreen rubber. The disc holder has been torn when someone in the past has removed it from the screen and is now useless as a disc holder. There is a pad (undamaged as far as I can see) attached to the cable. The pad is about 100mm x 70mm and about 3mm thick.
Can anyone tell me what this is and what it does? Can I remove it? How?
    Thanks
    John

Does the car has a fitted aftermarket hands free telephone kit ? Many Sharans were used aas minicabs and they had mobile phones hands free kitted. What you found is the active antena or it could be a active radio antena !

I've only has the car for a few days. There is no hands free kit fitted and no obvious signs of one having been fitted and removed, or a two way radio. I'll have another good look in daylight tomorrow.
    Thanks
    John
