Can anyone tell me how to remove the interior panel? I am fitting the bracket for the warning triangle, and need to take it off to ensure I cut the holes in all the right places.

    Thanks

From memory, there are some screws (dark heads so difficult to see, and they may be torx) in the depression that acts as the handle to pull the boot down shut. You'll then need a wide-bladed tool to prise up the panel a little to see where there are clips that hold it in place (use a cloth to protect the paint). Should then be possible to get your fingers either side of the clips and pull it off very carefully.

Hopefully this will do the job. I did it by trial and error without damaging anything.

Thats how I did it Quatrelle. Worst part was cutting the whole for the braket to fit into. Make sure its central and not to big.

I have a spare warning triangle that fits in the boot lid if anyone is interested. I think the clip can be bought separately at VW

As a matter of interest, how much was the bracket? I've held mine in place with two thin straps.

The screw and clip were £6.70 ish and had to be ordered, as they tend not to stock them.

On the matter of removal, a door card clip remover should do the job then?

    Thanks for the help.

the 2 part numbers are 3c58602859b9 for the clip, and n90698606 for the screw. I fould the easiest way to fit it was to cut a template out of card with the holes all cut out, and then cut the boot trim with a sharp stanley knife.

Thanks for that terence. Next time I'm at the dealers I'll order them. Should make them think if I quote the part nos.
