I've recently noticed a slight buzzing vibration from the steering wheel, accelerator pedal and gearbox level from my A4 1.9TDi. Also when sitting in the passenger seat, I can feel a vibration in the footwell area.

After a period of time driving and especially in stationery traffic, I feel my fingers slightly numb from the vibration. This vibration appears to be at all speeds and revs including being at idle and doesn't really change once the car has warmed up.

Recently I had the two gearbox mounts replaced to cure a resonance problem but I'm not sure if this is related.

A friend of mine says his diesel car exhibits the same slight vibration when driving but I'm pretty sure it wasn't present a few weeks ago, prior to the gearbox mounts being replaced, but I cannot be 100% sure.

My car is a Y2000 Audi A4 1.9TDi with Auto-Tiptronic gearbox.

Any suggestions please. I will considering contacting the dealer after the Christmas break but is there anything I could check myself in advance? Would I expect to get some kind of vibration through the steering wheel, gear lever considering it is a diesel?

Many thanks,
James
