i thought about doing this a while back. I planeed to use a 1.8t bumper with the twin cutouts and get a metal fabricator or exhaust specialist to weld me on some new tips, down turned but nice steel and so they fill the gaps. I cant actually be bothered now as i spend most of my time and money keeping the damn thing running right.I still have a 1.8t bumper(full top and bottom piece i bought off ebay) in my shed. You can have it cheap if you want it?

that may be an idea - do i need to change the whole bumper or does the bottom bit seperate? does seem a bit of a pain if i have to take the whole bumper off

Hi, if you want to keep the original lower valance in perfect shape then you need to take off the upper bumper too but it takes ages, so IMO not worth it, as you won't retrieve much cost selling it. If you're careful enough the lower part will unclip with a bit of force without needing to take off the upper and will more than likely be in pretty good shape anyway. Keep an eye out on Ebay and Ebay.de for lower valances from a B6 S Line or just A4 petrols either 1.8T or 3.0 if you don't want the lower kit.

Exhaust wise, on the cheap side, either get an exhaust specialist to cut off the tips and weld some stainless ones on or again keep an eye on Ebay for someone getting rid of a 3.0 petrol exhaust due to upgrade. As the 3.0 is also a V6, this should fit your 2.5 TDI. Needs to be cat back as the cats are different on petrol cars, so can't be used.

Cutting the tips off is probably your easier option and you'r lucky you already have a twin exhaust.

I've just done this conversion myself, but having a FWD 1.9TDI car I only had the exhaust exit on one side. I replaced the valance bought from Ebay and added a 1.8T exhaust again bought from Ebay. The exhaust had black tips as standard, which I'e not seen before, but looks pretty good. The picture below is rubbish and doesn't do it justice, and I need to sort the scuff out and tidy the parking sensors, but take a look.

It's the full exhaust after the cat. There's a fastening at that point. Just undo the jubilee clips there and remove the old system, the 1.8T one just marries straight up, once leveled and hangers attantched you're good to go.
