Hi If the car windows are going up slowly it could possibly be the battery can you get a jump?

The computer is probably getting scrambled because its not getting enough voltage to kick over and as its a diesal there wont be enough voltage going to the coil to heat the fuel.

As i always say my knoledge is limited but it would seem logical and if i am right the starter wont kick in untill the fuel is at the right temp.

Could be wrong on that last bit.

did you leave any lights on or do you have a mobile phone charger left in all the time is the battery 7 years old as thats a fair age for one.

    Kev

ok, firstly... as long as your car is still recognisinig your key and alarm fob, thats one problem out of the way.

secondly, if you're windows are going up slowly, but no life to turn over with, id go for the battery as well. you say your dash is scrambled, so im assuming theres no sufficient power for it. best thing to do, get someone who knows what they're doing to jump it, get the car running first and then check both the battery for output and the alternator for output. it could well turn out to be either your battery (replace it if so) or your alternator (again, replace it).

im not sure why you suspect a blown engine? is your oil level ok? check all levels, coolant, oil and check inside your oil filler cap for the white residue indicative of a failed head.

unless theres a reason for you suspecting blown engine, id go for the flat battery.

LMFAO if i was a girl, id be tearing you a new one, as said above, comments like that haven't really got a place on a public forum like this.... just be careful in future

secondly, its not me, 'tis my mrs to be... lucky fella, yes

unlucky fella... your good self as you need a new battery

get to a local car spares place and ask them for one, theyll fit it and test your alternator as well to make sure its charging correctly.
