Well that makes a nice change, I removed the complete glovebox and found the faulty damper, I removed it prised it apart and smeared the rubber seal with silicone grease. Now it works as good as new.

    Hi Guy's,

For info you can get at the damper by unclipping the side panel on the end of the dash when the doors open. Takes 2 seconds.

As for the door, use a small hinge pin remover, if you dont have one, small long nose mole grips and a toffee hammer will do, you'll need to unclip the side panel as above to disconnect the damper also.
The door can be removed in 2 minutes with the right tools.

This drastically shortens the task, as if you take the whole glove box out you have to think about the air bag switch, cd changer and power to the lights.

    Kind regards
    D

Remove the battery -ve terminal to avoid airbag errors if removing the glovebox. No harm will be done.

You will have to recalibrate the one shot window function by winding them all down and then back up again.

You may also have to resynch the remote function of the keys by putting the key in to the ignition, turning it on then off and within 5 seconds locking the car with the button on the key. Do this for each key.

Much easier than having to go to the $tealer because of an airbag light, though.
