Hi there, i'm new to this, and have read alot of the posts on this subject.

What is actually involved in fitting the Climatic on the mk5, as i've had this on previous Golf's and it's much better than the manual air con.

Is it not a plug and play unit, surely the eletrical connectors and sensors ect... are allready there?

On a manual air con car the controls are cable operated, the climate controlled car uses electronic motors instead. Its is a HUGE job to retro fit it, you'd need the entire dash removing to replace the heater/air con assembly for starters as well as adding the wiring looms etc etc. Not for the faint hearted but possible if your pockets are deep enough.
