Am having problem with starting particularly after a night of rain or very damp conditions. At other times, warm and cold weather, have no problems starting.
When car eventually starts car runs OK. Occassionally a bit reluctant to pull properly. After a few minutes engine & car works as it should. Have carried out the following:

    Cleaned & checked plugs
    Cleaned & checked rotor arm
    Cleaned & checked distributor cap
    Cleaned Plug/coil leads.

It would appear water is getting in somewhere. Could be a problem with plug lead resistance - have not checked this. Does anyone know what the resistance should be ?

Has anyone experienced similar problems and could suggest what next to check.

    Many Thanks

    Hi

Possibly a hairline crack in the distributor cap? If it has a detachable outer cover, take that off then run the car in the dark see, if there is any arcing?

Checked out the distributor and all is well there - No hairline crack but thanks for the reply - I think it maybe the Fuel Injection Temp Sensor located in the cooling system - am going to try replacing this

try using a plant sprayer to wet the ht leads & cap while the engine is running. this will show up any arcing.any sort of spray bottle will do if you dont have one for plants. ht leads can look perfectly good, but can loose their insulation properties over time.
