no tried the module, no difference (got another to swap bits off). so will try the cheaper option next. the hit head against brick wall!!!!!

So you didn't change the switch first?

Must say the idea of this module thing rather than a simple relay, is a bit OTT. VW could have made it much easier for us!

Any idea where the switch is??? cheers. VW said most likely module and as i have another van same it was easy to try the module.

I believe it is at the bottom of the radiator.

It might be worth checking with a dealer. There was recall for problems with cooling fan wiring (possible fire risk). I had that done on my '04. If yours missed out it could be a short in the loom. If so they should fix it free.
