    I need help i currently have a 1.9 TDI on a 2001 plate...

Currently under the car mat whilst cleaning i discovered a patch of water... the actual mat was dry and there was no means of the water getting through the mat or it would be noticable....

The water seems to reaccure as i cleaned it out with a cloth and whilst an hour of driving the carpet was damp once more....

I really need help someone did suggest it was a heater Matrix but i need to reassure and how much it cost...

    Thanks Loads
    Anzee

    Hi

I would check to make sure the pollon filter is sealed first. If not water can leak into the footwell.

i was havein the same problem.im now currently just about to carry out the above link regarding drainage holes, and noticed this .i would say that a previous owner (ive only had the car 2 weeks) has at some stage changed the pollen filter AND NEVER PUT BACK INTO THE CORRECT POSITION THE DRAINAGE TRAY it was actually sitting loose, not clipped in at all and resting against the bulkhead,so the water was just running straight down the windscreen, straight through the pollen filter and into the heater box/motor fan.oh well an easy fix, might as well look at the drainage points whilst im this far.

Hi, I'm a new member. I had similar problem and found that the battery drain hole was blocked. I now have a problem with leaks in the passenger rear nearside footwell. It seems to be coming from the above the door, maybe the srear of the sunroof. Someone suggested that it maybe the sunroof drain hole. Can anyone tell me how to get at them, or check that the are ok ??

    Hi.
I had similiar trouble with a 1998 passat.
Lots of water in the passanger floor that eventualy ran into the back floor, there was that much.
The water was coming in through a grommet in the bulkhead. ( look up behind the passanger dash behind the heater motor, You can see up without stripping anything out ).
rain water was building up in the engine bulkhead were the battery, wiper linkage etc is kept. Half the battery was submerged with water.
I couldnt find any drain hole so just pulled out the battery breather pipe out the bottom of the flooded area and the water drained out.

Yours is probably a different fault or you would def have noticed the water when you had your bonnet up.

Can you tell if the water has anti freeze in it or not.

Success I took the car to the local garage and for an astonishing £40 he cleaned all the muck outta the car.. apparently the drainage pipes near the pollen filters were gathering water and muck mostly leaves and after cleaning out i no longer have the leakage...

I was a bit worried it was the heater matrix but i wasnt loosing water in the Radiator Coolant and the car was heating up so it couldnt have been that thank god for that...

    Hope this helps...

hi I had this problem The water had damaged the conveniance unit with controls all windows door lock etc. Audi noticed this and wanted £600 to
sort itv out. I removed the front passanger seat all trims and pulled up the carpet socking wet, The prolem I noticed was the pollen filter lid this has a rear flange that is made to be flexable If you look close there may be a split if the car is parked on a slop this will make it worse. The lid is only about £3.00 from Audi try this.
