Out of that lot has to be Hamilton, why Jo Calzaghe is on there I never know Ricky Hatton as a boxer has accomplished far more than him i.e. fighting the best fighters when they are in there prime.

All the nightmares back stabbing and controversy Hamilton had to go through and still win the championship. Number 1

It's a good year this year with the Olympic successes and although Hamilton seemed to have certain parties ganging up against him my vote would go to Chris Hoy; the GB cyclists were brilliant.

If ITV or Steve Rider get their own way then of course Hamilton would win it.

You'd have thought Steve Rider sleeps with him.

I agree with the Cyclists call, Vicky Pendleton or Chris Hoy.

Cyclists fine, they did well and that but let's be honest...who follows cycling outside of the Olympics?? And why should they suddenly become a sports personality, when someone like say Hamilton or Hatton (why isn't he in the mix?) at least achieve continuously throughout the season.

My problem with a Hamilton vote is that it depends as much or more so on the car as it does on the driver. If Lewis started 3-4 years ago he would of been driving a Merc with the engine blowing up one season,or the gearbox dropping out the next. This season Ferrari self destructed with that stupid button thing during pit stops,(I think 4 times they took the fuel nozzle down the straight),and Massa when in the lead at Monaco decided to park his car in some part of the track that took over a minute to reverse out of.Lewis is a very good driver but he does not win the most races in the season.Team Merc did a great job keeping the car on the road.
That's why I'm voting for Rebecca Arlington. The 1st Gold medal she had to come from behind to beat the world champion and record holder in hot form, and that gave her the confidence to smash the rest for the 2nd gold.

I do but I used to be a track cyclist so it does make me a touch biast but if we didn't have have good cyclists how do you think we'd have figured in the Olympic medal chart? Personally I don't think we'd have done too well???
