A6 1999 Diesel wont start

Hi All

First post on what looks like a well informed site!This one is on behalf of a friend who is not too PC savvy

He has a 1999 diesel A6 which wont start, he has passed on these codes which I hope maybe on of you guys can throw some light on

Fuel quantity adjuster n146 .01268/037 kwp 1281

sparadick defect n146 01268/165 kwp 1281

The engine turns over but wont start

Any Ideas?
