Help!!! i've a 1998 Cab and i can't get the boot to open nor the Hood cover to release.

Regards the hood cover - all works as should (windows go down) until i press the hood release button then nothing. (having to use the manual method)

Regards the Boot - I can't get this to open, i can hear the central loncking actuiators working but on pressing or turning the lock with the key and depressing the darn thing just won't open.

Is the issue with the wiring harnesses in the boot or a problem with the boot lock itself (have the plastiic link/s broken on one end of the rod that links the lock to the latch?

Also how can i access / open the boot without drilling the lock out HELP PLEASE..

    Regards Rob

I don't know if the cab has the same boot catch, but on the coupe's: if the bump stops are set too high and there is too much tension on the catch, the catch does not release. If you press the hatch down when the barrel is pushed in, it may work.

hi. If you've not sorted it yet - you may need to know that if the hood is not functioning properly in any way then the boot will not be allowed to open. I'm pretty sure that if the hood problem is solved then the boot will resolve itself.

Hope you have it sorted already though.

Put the key in the boot lock and turn it just slightly to the left then push lock in quickly it will open after a couple of pushes then you need to check the black solenoid in boot lid rod goes to boot lock, part number 8g0959639,when its faulty it locks boot and only lets lid lift couple of inches
